White Dragon Kung Fu
About Great-Grand Master Daniel Kane Pai

Daniel Kane Pai was born April 4, 1930 in Kameulai Hawaii. He lived the last seventeen years of his life in Florida and passed away in 1993 in the Dominican Republic. Per his request he was laid to rest in his beloved Hawaii. During his sixty-three year journey on earth he built a martial arts legacy throughout North America leaving a few Si Gungs and several Si Fus to carry on the teachings of the 'Way of the White Dragon'.
A truly controversial figure, Daniel Kane Pai did it his way, from the tough streets of Hawaii to forming the largest Kung Fu system in North America during the 60's and 70's. There was no doubt of his command of Pai Lum Tao Martial Arts. He taught a rough/tough type of training, which the Hawaiian Islands are well known for.
A young Daniel began training with family members in Hawaii in the disciplines of Kung Fu, Kenpo and Judo-Jujitsu. His grandfather Pai Po Fong taught him 'the Pai family' martial arts which contained mainly elements of Dragon and Crane. After the mastery of Dragon and Crane the Tiger, Leopard and Snake were introduced to the young practitioner.
During his early years of training 'Pai Po Fong' sent Daniel to study and learn stem discipline from the teachers of the White Lotus Monastery 'Byakurenji' on the north coast of Okinawa. He hoped that this would help settle the wild ways of young Daniel and give him a center for to which he could develop his art and life. That it did, Daniel then began to merge his knowledge of martial arts and philosophies into what began known as Pai Lum Tao 'Way of the White Dragon'.
His life reflected many changes. He was a teacher of martial arts, a graduate of the Chicago Medical College "PHD", a bodyguard, stunt coordinator, cowboy at the Parker Ranch, Philosopher, biker and decorated Korean War Veteran. In the seventies Dr. Pai formed the U.S. White Dragon Martial Arts Society in hopes of standardizing his vast knowledge of martial arts. The students of the sixties and seventies who weathered Pai's rigorous and at times brutal training became known as the "Old School" lineage. Dr. Pai's American team was awarded the Superb Achievement Merit at the Kuosho event in Taipei in 1976. In 1980 Dr. Pai served as director at the 3rd World Chinese Kuosho Tournament in Hawaii. During Dr. Pai's visit to Taipei in 1983 he was appointed the United States Vice President of the Worldwide Promotion Association 'Executive Board' of the Kuosho Federation of the Republic of China. As President of the United States Chinese Kuosho Federation in 1989 he organized the much-talked about World Chinese Kuosho tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 1990 Dr. Pai and disciple Glenn Wilson began work on forming a structured organization to unite the different factions Pai Lum Tao martial arts. to standardize the curriculum and to legitimize rank. Today this organization is the 'White Dragon Warrior Society'. The Society is 'chaired' by Grand Master Glenn C. Wilson and is dedicated to keeping the dreams of Great Grand Master Daniel Kane Pai alive.
